- In the first week of August 2007, a complaint about misconduct was sent to the Alaska Department of Labor, as part of an unemployment claim. A Salvation Army director had apparently protested my unemployment claim, so I provided additional information to support my claim.
- Aug 9, 2007, the Alaska Department of Labor contacted the Clitheroe Detox supervisor twice (see below) about specific employment issues.
- Less than 24 hours later, on August 10th 2007, the patients were kicked out and Detox was closed (Click here). No notice of Deox's closing had been given to anybody.
- Cash shortfalls and the "nationwide nursing shortage" were blamed. (See nurse and cash).
Detox employees were all given one month severance pay. - [The $865,000 contract with the state was not even close to being finished. In fact no advance notice was given to the state that the Salvation Army was not going to finish the contract. State BHS officials were caught off guard and had to scramble to arrange emergency Detox services.]
- It took until October for the state to arrange a contract with ANMC (Click here).
The employment complaint was that I was denied medical benefits in retaliation for complaints against supervisors.
